OS podcast #8 - Marjorie Jones - Frances Yates and the Hermetic Tradition
On episode 8, Marjorie and I talk about her new book, which happens to be the first every biography of Frances Yates.
Marjorie spent an extensive amount of time at the Warburg Institute (University of London), at which Frances taught, researching the letters and diaries of this truly amazing historian of the renaissance and occult.
Frances Yates wrote many books and had a profound influence on how we now understand the renaissance.

Informative episode, but much of Yates’ scholarship has fallen into disrepute. That isn’t to trivialize her impact, but it’s an important caveat.
